I originally became interested in cardiology and the conduction system of the heart while working as an EMT on an ambulance in the mid 1990’s. During my training as a Physician Assistant student, I was able to participate in elective rotations in cardiothoracic surgery and electrophysiology, which helped to foster my interest in cardiology. It was during my rotation that in electrophysiology that I really felt lead to pursue a career in EP. I was excited about the way that individuals with abnormal conduction through the heart, and those with “short circuits” could be successfully treated through pacemakers and ICDs, as well as ablation. My excitement about, and interest in helping individuals with electrical health problems continues to this day. I am very blessed to have such a rewarding career in the healing ministry of Christ in this sub-specialty of cardiology.
